Our educational philosophy follows closely with the Finnish curriculum and is centered around children ages 9 months to 6 years. We prioritize their individuality and consider happiness, empathy, joy and a healthy development as our ultimate purpose. We also emphasize the important of each child as an engaged, inquisitive and multi-cultural learner. We respect and celebrate the cultural heritage of our international families as well as incorporating the local traditions of Finland.
English is the main language of our Early Childhood Education and Care, and we aim at reaching high standards of English for both native speakers as well as children who have English as their second language. We incorporate language development in all our daily activities and encourage communication in English throughout the day.
We strive to be a family orientated flexible and fun place where every child is loved and welcomed. We respect the multicultural background of all our families and aim to prepare all our children to be global citizens.
“Bond that my child has built up with her teachers. Healthy food as well.”
“The teachers are very good. We also value the new daily updates in the app and newsletter.”

At Touhula, we operate during the day in small groups in which each child is seen and heard as a unique individual. The childrens’ guardians also have an opportunity to be genuinely present and help fulfil their children’s needs.
The TouGo application is the primary tool for contacting the daycare centre about everyday issues concerning a child.
Touhula’s partnerships are based on the following core values: the joy of learning, the desire to do good and making everyday life easier for families. Touhula daycare centres collaborate with several partners.
Kide Science activities are science education for young children. Kide Science guides children through the wonders of everyday life through exploration, experimentation and observation. We emphasize playful learning, stories and drama in action.
The activities are based on the Vartiainen science education model developed at the University of Helsinki. Science education can be seen in all areas of Early Childhood Education and Care, from basic care routines to guided science lessons. Children learn to observe and study the phenomena of science in their own environment and the use of related concepts in everyday life. Children’s approach to science is playful and exploratory pedagogy.
