Touhula-päiväkodit siirtyy henkilöstönsä omistukseen

Touhula-päiväkotien pääomistaja EQT sekä Touhulan johto ja hallitus ovat sopineet uudesta yritysjärjestelystä. Helmikuun alussa 2022 Touhulan omistus on siirtynyt nykyiselle johdolle ja hallitukselle. Lisäksi laajalle, noin sadan työntekijän joukolle tarjotaan mahdollisuus tulla yhtiön omistajaksi. Touhulan omistuspohja on siis jatkossa täysin kotimainen, kun se on henkilöstönsä omistama yhtiö.

Touhulan uusi omistusjärjestely tuo yksityiseen varhaiskasvatukseen uudenlaisen toiminnan ja omistamisen mallin. Päiväkodin johtajat voivat omistaa osan päiväkodistaan kohtuullisella panostuksella ja hyvin rajatulla riskillä. Omistajuutta tarjotaan myös varhaiskasvatuksen erityisopettajille sekä tukipalvelujen henkilöstölle. Jatkossa myös hallitukseen valitaan kaksi henkilöstön edustajaa. Uusi hallitusrakenne jatkaa Touhulan avoimuuden arvon kunnioittamista ja lisää entisestään toiminnan läpinäkyvyyttä. ”Tavoitteenamme tietysti on, että Touhula toimii kannattavasti ja voimme palkita siitä työn tekijöitä eli omistajia ja henkilöstöä”, kertoo Touhulan toimitusjohtaja Sari Saari.

Omistusjärjestelyn alla Touhulan tilanne on vahva ja vakaa. Yhtiön asiakastyytyväisyys on korkealla tasolla ja taloudellinen pohja vahvistunut merkittävästi loppuvuoden 2021 aikana.

Järjestelyssä konsernin emoyhtiön osakkeiden omistus vaihtuu. Henkilöstön tai työsuhteiden osalta ei tapahdu muutoksia, vaan työ päiväkodeissa jatkuu kuten aiemminkin.

Touhulan tavoitteena on, että yksityisellä varhaiskasvatuksella olisi jatkossakin paikka suomalaisessa yhteiskunnassa. Yksityinen varhaiskasvatus on edelleen kunnille omaa tuotantoa edullisempi vaihtoehto. Hyvin johdettu, laadukas yksityinen varhaiskasvatus on houkutteleva valinta myös perheille ja työntekijöille.

Touhula-päiväkodit to the ownership of its staff 

EQT, the main owner of Touhula-päiväkodit, have agreed together with Touhula’s management and board on a new corporate reorganization. At the beginning of February 2022, the ownership of Touhula has been transferred to the current management and board. In addition, a large group of about one hundred employees will be offered the opportunity to become the owner of the company. Touhula’s ownership base will therefore be completely domestic in the future, as it is a company owned by its staff. 

Touhula’s new ownership arrangement brings a new model of operation and ownership to private early childhood education. Daycare Managers can own a part of their daycare centre with a reasonable investment and very limited risk. Ownership is also offered to special teachers of early childhood education and support service staff. In the future, two employee representatives will also be elected to the board. The new board structure will continue to respect Touhula’s value of transparency and further increase the transparency of operations. ”Of course, our goal is for Touhula to operate profitably and we can reward the workers, ie the owners and staff,” says Sari Saari, Touhula’s CEO.

By the time of ownership arrangement, Touhula’s situation is strong and stable. The company’s customer satisfaction is at a high level and the financial base strengthened significantly during the latter part of 2021. 

In the arrangement, the ownership of the shares in the group’s parent company will change. There will be no changes in staff or employment relationships, and work in the daycare centres will continue as before. 

Touhula’s goal is for private early childhood education to continue to have a place in Finnish society. Private early childhood education is still a cheaper option for municipalities than their own production. Well-managed, high-quality private early childhood education is also an attractive choice for families and employees.
