Touhula Kulmakartano is a daycare centre located in the heart of Jyväskylä downtown.
Our facilities are situated in the centre of Jyväskylä close to the main library, harbour, Toivolan vanha piha, the University campus and different parks. The city center location is also a pivotal part of our daily activities. Seeing, experiencing and doing things in a safe daycare environment is, for us, the most important thing.
We operate mainly in small age-defined groups (children 1 to 7 years of age) and we also provide pre-primary education. Our daily activities include play, outdoor activities, lessons, musical activities and regular meals (breakfast, lunch and a snack). Touhula Kulmakartano is situated in an architectural award-winning brick building completed in 1951.
We often take little trips, invite visitors from the fields of art and culture, and hold dance and music sessions to provide versatile experiences for the children.
Touhula Kulmakartano daycare centre’s pedagogical theme is Arts. In Early Childhood Education and Care of Touhula Arts daycare centres, different forms of art and expression are part of the child’s everyday life. Learning and joy of success are experienced through music, visual, verbal and bodily expression. The creative atmosphere in Touhula motivates children to explore and interpret the surrounding world in new ways: by practising new ways of expressions children are able to develop their thinking and learning skills.
