Touhula Seaside International is an English-speaking daycare centre located in Keilaniemi, Espoo. Our daycare provides a relaxed and peaceful environment where fun, play and learning go hand in hand.
Located steps from the Keilaniemi Metro Station, Seaside International has great access from the capital region and our playground overlooks the beautiful seascape of Keilalahti. Our educational philosophy is centered around children 0-6, as their happiness and healthy development is our ultimate purpose. We emphasize the child’s individuality, and the significance of active learning in a multicultural environment.
As English is the main language of our Early Childhood Education and Care, we aim at reaching high standards of English for both native speakers as well as children who have English as a second language. We incorporate language development in our daily activities and otherwise encourage English communication throughout the day.
We strive to be a happy, multicultural community and prepare children for being citizens of the globalized world. We respect each and every individual and take into account diverse requests in a way that fits to Seaside International values as well.
“Teachers are lovely. My child goes to daycare with a smile on her face everyday and learns new things all the time.”
“I like the daily organised activities.”

The application process is as follows:
Our daycare centre uses the service voucher of City of Espoo and a customer fee determined according to income. If necessary, the family submits income information directly to the City of Espoo’s early childhood education services.
At Touhula, we operate during the day in small groups in which each child is seen and heard as a unique individual. The childrens’ guardians also have an opportunity to be genuinely present and help fulfil their children’s needs.
The TouGo application is the primary tool for contacting the daycare centre about everyday issues concerning a child.
Touhula’s partnerships are based on the following core values: the joy of learning, the desire to do good and making everyday life easier for families. Touhula daycare centres collaborate with several partners.
Kide Science activities are science education for young children. Kide Science guides children through the wonders of everyday life through exploration, experimentation and observation. We emphasize playful learning, stories and drama in action.
The activities are based on the Vartiainen science education model developed at the University of Helsinki. Science education can be seen in all areas of Early Childhood Education and Care, from basic care routines to guided science lessons. Children learn to observe and study the phenomena of science in their own environment and the use of related concepts in everyday life. Children’s approach to science is playful and exploratory pedagogy.
